Happy 10th Birthday to Douglas House.
Douglas House opened in 2004 adjacent to Helen House Hospice, designed specifically for young adults aged 16-35 and remains one of only a few purpose built specialist hospices for this age range in the world. Over the past 10 years hundreds of young adults have stayed at Douglas House for respite care and many of the children who stayed at Helen House, just across the gardens have grown up and now visit Douglas House.
Several of the team at Taylor Dolman are proud to have been associated with Helen & Douglas House Hospices for many years and Taylor Dolman now maintains and installs patient hoists in both hospices.
This week we have just supplied and installed some new Guldmann Hoists and completed the refit of the retained hoists as part of the Helen House major refurbishment project to improve the space and facilities. After 30 years of wear and tear the refurbishment will ensure Helen House is fit for the future and continues to provide the best possible care for its children and families.
We would like to take this opportunity to offer our best wishes to everyone at Helen & Douglas House and congratulations on their recent Royal visit by the Duchess of Cornwall. The Duchess toured Helen & Douglas House as part of her recent visit to Oxford and she unveiled a new portrait to mark the hospice’s 10th anniversary.
